Blue Tomato Rail Battle Tour
In Spring 2016, board sports retailer Blue Tomato commissioned us to conceptualize, plan, and implement a grassroots core skateboard events series. The overall goal was to raise the profile of recently opened Blue Tomato stores across Germany and Austria, while also improving the retailer’s brand image within the skate scene.
From May to June with events at two-week intervals, the Blue Tomato Rail Battle Tour took place in four cities: Stuttgart, Essen, Bregenz, and Vienna. With a price purse of €1,000 each, the best trick sessions activated real-life street spots with a custom-made Blue Tomato handrail. After each of the stops, one handrail remained at the local Blue Tomato shop for long-term placement in the skate scene.
